From locating Fidel Castro's daughter to breaking the American Express versus Edmond Safra Case, and from solving the missing Warhol paintings incident to providing protection for people such as Mike Wallace and Walter Cronkite, Joseph T. Mullen has seen his share of action in his forty five years as a private investigator. A licensed New York State Private Investigator and the President of the J.T. Mullen Company, Inc., located in New York City, Mullen began his career at age sixteen. Mullen, who learned his trade from his banker-turned-private eye father, is a charming gentleman with a kind smile and a hearty sense of humor.

Mullen's high-profile clients and position as America's most wanted Private Eye have often landed him in the press. Twice he has been the subject of a David Brinkley Special, the "Real Private Eye" on NBC and Diane Sawyer has interviewed him on her news program. A&E published a biography on Mullen in August, 1998. Mullen has been profiled in a variety of newspapers including the New York Times, the Miami Herald , the New York Daily News and the New York Post. According to Steve Dunleavy at the New York Post , "At 64, Joe Mullen is the last Gumshoe of the Millennium, and while a battered trench coat is replaced by designer suits, he is straight out of Mickey Spillane." Mr. Mullen was the Security Editor of Forbes FYI for three years, sharing his experiences and personal opinions in articles such as "How to be your own Private Eye".

A family man, presently Mullen is in discussion with MGM and other Networks on a TV Series that will highlight his relationship with his five children, Bonnie, Joseph Jr, Thomas, Michael and Pamela; all of whom have worked with him at some time in their lives. Mullen's hobbies include being an avid runner, having completed over 65 races, including the New York Marathon. Mullen is devoted to his fourteen grandchildren; eight of whom live in three homes on one block in Pearl River, New York.

Mullen's interest in children has led him to spend many years locating lost children, mothers and other relatives who have disappeared. Mr. Mullen is on the Board of Directors for the Forum's Children's Foundation and supports such children's charities as the Children's Aid Society. In 1999, he received the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor, awarded to 100 distinguished American citizens annually. He lives in New York City and Key Biscayne, Florida with his wife, Suzanne Kramer Mullen.
